DEFINTIONS
Growing Stock Net volume, in cu. ft., of growing-stock trees 5.0 inches d.b.h. & larger from a 1-ft stump to a min. 4.0-in. top diameter outside bark of the central stem, or to the point where the central stem breaks into limbs,  Net volume equals gross volume less deduction for cull.
Roundwood Wood in the form of logs or bolts
Poletimber A live tree of commercial species meeting regional specs. of soundness & form & at least 5.0 in. in d.b.h. but smaller than a sawtimber tree.
Sawtimber A live tree of commerical species at least 9.0 in. d.b.h. for softwoods or 11.0 in. for hardwoods, containing at least one 12-ft sawlog or two non contiguous 8-ft sawlogs, & meeting reg. specs. for freedom from defect.
